Building Bridges With M48 At Remake Learning Days '22

Come out and join us on May 7th at Remake Learning Days!

Remake Learning Days, an innovative festival for families and youth, is coming to Kansas City. Billed as an “open house of hands-on learning,” this family-friendly festival will shine a light on how much Kansas City has to offer youth of all ages, with activities happening at local schools, arts organizations, museums, libraries, tech and engineering companies, and more.

Many local businesses, organizations and community partners have put together some amazing learning experiences for families and students to enjoy, including Make48. The family-friendly outdoor event will take place with the KC-STEM Alliance and many others.

Choose your adventure during this national festival of hands-on learning. Beginning May 6 through May 16, 2022, a line-up of programs surrounding arts, science, technology, outdoor learning, and making will include over 100 activities for Kansas City’s families and students.

Visit https://remakelearningdays.org/KansasCity/ and enjoy the day with us. You'll find everything from learning how to use a green screen to discovering patterns in nature plus several neighborhood mini-festivals. Neighborhood fests include Remake Learning Day in the Westside, an array of events in the Historic Northeast coordinated by the Kansas City Public Library, a mini-festival of STEAM activities themed around the miracle of flight and other feats of engineering at the KC STEM Alliance, plus an entire week of hands-on learning at Agape Grow Education Center in the Northeast Blue Ridge Neighborhood.

Mark your calendars and join Make48 on May 7th from 11am - 3pm at the KC STEM Alliance-organized event for girls and their families to explore STEAM through activities. Make48's focus will center on operating objects, an engineering experiment we've dubbed Candy Bridges. The event will also include activities coordinated by The DeBruce Foundation to help young people recognize their abilities, natural interests and skills. These agility tests and games will help young people discover career pathways that could be right for them.

This is Kansas City’s second year of participating in the festival. Last year Make48 joined Union Station - Science City and Operation Breakthrough in an exploration of "exploring gears" activity. This year more than 75 events have been planned for their second annual festival, and we’re looking forward to it!
