Make48 is a 48-hour competition where teams are presented with a challenge and tasked to build a physical prototype, create a sales sheet, produce a 1-minute marketing video and pitch their big idea to a panel of judges. Participants are supported by a team of tool technicians in a Makerspace full of equipment and tools to help them build nearly any solution their imaginations can conceive.
Collaboration is the key to success.
In real life, everyone has big ideas, but only about 5% have the skills either physically or digitally to make a prototype. To build complex solutions you need collaboration, often many different materials and various pieces of equipment to finish a product. Make48 accelerates the process in a fun, fast-moving, and educational event!

The Make48 blueprint includes the planning tools needed to run a successful competition. You will have access to planning timelines, detailed checklists and promotional materials to share with prospective teams & sponsors. Our expert staff will meet with your team to start the process four months ahead of the event and every two weeks to ensure goals are met. Between meetings, Make48 staff are available by email and phone any time. Before your event, you will receive a pallet full of Make48 swag, gift cards, sponsored tools and materials, and a countdown clock. After the event, you will have access to an event sizzle reel and dedicated page on the Make48 site that can be linked to by participants, hosts, and sponsors.
