Engineer Someday! | Book Launch with Jay Flores

Once upon a time, a passionate engineer and science advocate named Jay Flores had a dream: to inspire the next generation to see themselves in the world of STEM. He knew that representation matters and believed that every child, especially those from underrepresented communities, should have the chance to see themselves as problem-solvers and innovators.

This dream became a reality in his new bilingual children's book, Engineer Someday! This joyful, bilingual (English/Spanish) book is a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and the amazing world of engineering. Through playful rhymes and vibrant illustrations, children ages 0-7 explore ten different types of engineers, from aerospace to biomedical, software to civil, each compared to something kids already know and love, like superheroes, chefs, and magicians.

The book was born from Jay’s promise to inspire, and its impact is already being felt. Since its release, Engineer Someday! has shot up the Amazon New Release Rankings, hitting #1 in Children’s Chemistry Books and Children’s Experiments and Projects Books, #2 in Children’s Engineering Books, and #6 in Children’s Science, Nature and How It Works books.

Engineer Someday Inspires

Engineer Someday! is a launchpad for a lifelong love of science, technology, engineering, and math. It’s designed to introduce young readers to real engineering careers in a fun, engaging way. The book also promotes bilingual language development and supports early confidence-building, all while inspiring kids to dream big. Engineer Someday helps children connect their natural curiosity with real-world careers,” Jay said. “It opens doors for youth by making STEM careers visible and relatable. It turns inspiration into possibility!”

The book reminds children that their curiosity is their superpower. The pages encourage them to build, break, and play. It empowers them to ask questions and invent the change they want to see in the world, one idea at a time. The core message is simple, but powerful: “If you love to build and play... You can be an engineer someday!”

To share this inspiring message, author Jay Flores has embarked on the 2025 Engineer Someday! International Book Tour. He’s already made stops in West Palm Beach and Pompano Beach, Florida. Upcoming tour dates include:
