Mark your calendars for November 8-10, as six teams of talented makers converge on the Operation Breakthrough Ignition Lab Makerspace: Powered by 87 & Running, right here in Kansas City.
These teams, hailing from regional competitions across the country, have battled their way to the top, showcasing incredible determination. Representing diverse backgrounds and institutions – from the KS School for the Blind to the Milwaukee School of Engineering – they embody the spirit of innovation that Make48 celebrates.
An All-Star Lineup of Mentors and Tool Techs
To guide these talented makers on their 48-hour innovation marathon, we have assembled an incredible team of experts. Lead tool techs Tyler Isaacs and Adam Kittrell will be joined by past technicians and makers, including Stan Fernald, our long-running tool tech who loves to bring the trophy design to life. Representatives from Lincoln Electric, ShopBot Tools, Operation Breakthrough, and Onshape will also help build the team's ideas to life. Plus, Make48 veterans like patent attorneys Andrea Hence Evans and Chris DeBacker will be on hand to provide legal guidance.
The energy at Operation Breakthrough will be electric, with many supporters returning to lend their support and expertise. It's a testament to the Maker community and its commitment to fostering the next generation of inventors.
