This August, the Make48 trailer will be heading to the Wisconsin state capitol, where 8 teams will build a brand new prototype in just 48 hours.
With the help of a team of tool techs, including YouTube makers/DIY experts Caleb Harris (@youcanmakethistoo) Joanie Sprague (@joaniesprague), Katie Freeman (@freemanfurnishings) and Brandy Aubé (@brandy.studioaube), participants will have some of the best minds and hands to help them create their ideas.
Madison, Wisconsin is a vibrant community with several educational institutions and a booming technology sector, driven largely by the leadership at UW-Madison. UW-Madison is home to many firsts, including the first university artist-in-residence program, the first bone marrow transplant and the first national stem cell bank and they boast winners of 41 Pulitzer prizes.
With a thriving tech sector, and the collaborations and recruiting opportunities at UW-Madison bringing an event to Madison was a no-brainer, but it wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of several Wisconsin-based businesses.
