About Make48:
Make48 is a nationwide invention-competition docuseries, distributed and aired in partnership with This Old House Makers Channel (Roku), that gives teams a challenge at the start of a three-day event. With just 48 hours, teams must create a prototype, promotional video, sales sheet, and finally present their idea to a panel of judges. The teams have access to a makerspace and numerous Tool Techs (who can make almost anything), patent attorneys, marketing experts, and more. This format allows everyone to have a level playing field and the chance to win, with no prior technical knowledge necessary.

I recently watched a few episodes of Make48’s previous seasons, and I was really impressed by how creative and determined the teams were under such tight time constraints. It’s amazing to see young innovators come together to solve real-world problems, like improving accessibility for visually impaired entrepreneurs in this season. The spirit of teamwork and rapid prototyping truly highlights the power of collaboration and creativity. I’m definitely looking forward to catching Season 8 on the This Old House Makers Channel. If you’re looking for a fun way to unwind after watching the competition, I recommend trying out the game Block Blast for some light entertainment.
