Meet Make48’s Newest Team Member: Alexandria Lundquist!

We are thrilled to start the year off with an introduction to the newest addition to the Make48 family! Please join us in welcoming Alexandria Lundquist, who has joined us as our new Education Associate.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Alexandria is a recent graduate of Colorado Christian University, where she majored in Business Administration and Marketing. After graduating this past May, she returned to her roots in KC to kick off her career. While this is her first full-time role post-grad, she brings valuable experience from her time as a Strategic Communications Intern with The DeBruce Foundation, as well as work with a PR firm and freelance real estate marketing.

We sat down with Alexandria to talk about her move back from the mountains, her first Make48 Nationals experience, and what she’s looking forward to this new year.

A New World of Creativity

While Alexandria is a KC native, the mountains were calling during her college years. "I just love the mountains and Colorado," she says. "My family grew up going to the mountains every summer and winter, so I knew I wanted to be close to them again. Plus, I loved that our school had three-day weekends, so I could always go skiing or hiking!"

After graduation, Alexandria received an internship from The DeBruce Foundation connection when she returned to the Midwest. She met Make48’s Brett Kisker while working at The DeBruce Foundation. When the position opened up, they connected, and the rest is history.

As the Education Associate, Alexandria supports the education team, handling marketing, communications, and administrative needs. "I do a lot of supporting Brett and Sharrell in their roles," she explains. "I love that I get to be creative and work with awesome people who make the job fun."

Coming from a marketing background, the world of invention and makers was brand new to her.

"It’s like a new world to me," Alexandria admits. "I learn something cool every day from everyone we talk to. I’m blown away by how smart and creative these people are. It’s amazing to see how students come up with their ideas and realize there are no bounds to the world they have to stay in."

The "Nationals" Experience

Alexandria jumped right into the deep end by attending the Season 9 Nationals competition in Fishers, Indiana. The first competition was eye-opening. "It was so fun! Exactly what I expected, but also not what I expected at all!" she laughs. "It was really cool to see how everything the team works toward comes together into one event. Seeing how it works in the classroom translated to real life was exciting. I was blown away by the Tool Techs and how helpful they were at redirecting students. I can’t wait for the next one."

As more and more classrooms sign up for Make48’s Innovation Experience, next year will be a full plate for the education team. Alexandria has been learning so much and working towards her 2026 goals. "My goal is always to help those around me when they need a hand. I want to support, serve, and love others well through my actions, even if it's just a small, simple task."

Fun Facts About Alexandria

We ended the interview with a few fun questions and facts about our newest hire!

On a personal note: When she isn't supporting the education team, Alexandria is likely planning for her own big event — she is engaged and getting married in the Spring of 2026!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be? "Time travel. I think it’d be so cool to go back in time to see certain things, or just be able to travel anywhere instantly."

If you were competing in a Make48 event, who are the three people on your team?

  1. Sharrell: "Because she’s always the biggest cheerleader and always lends a helping hand."

  2. Tom: "Because he puts everything together so well and leads."

  3. Brett: "Because he is always willing to do something, go after it, and make it happen."

Welcome to the team, Alexandria! We are so excited to have you.
