For this Make48 challenge, students took on a unique prompt from our sponsor, Matt Muse Construction. The “Off the Grid, On the Same Page” challenge pushed teams to think about construction, infrastructure, and resource management in off-grid scenarios. It required a deep dive into self-sustaining design and collaborative problem-solving.
Meet the Winning Team
After reviewing all the incredible submissions, one team truly built an outstanding solution. A massive congratulations to the team from LISA Academy North MS/HS!
Their project, "Eco-Basin Pro," took 1st Place, showcasing fantastic engineering and a deep understanding of the off-the-grid prompt. We are so excited to see the creativity and drive this team will bring as they advance to the regional competition.

Thank you to Matt Muse Construction for sponsoring this pod and providing such a thought-provoking challenge for these students. A special thank you also goes to all of the teachers and mentors who made this challenge a great success. We’re honored to be a part of your students' journey in innovation!
Want your students to be next? We’re already having schools sign up for a chance to participate in the 2026–27 Make48 National Tournament. If you’re ready to give your students a chance to innovate, compete, and learn real-world skills, let’s make it happen.

LISA Academy’s achievement in the Make48 Classroom Experience is a great example of how young innovators can address real environmental challenges. Projects like the Eco Basin Pro show how creativity and practical problem solving can come together to support sustainability and smarter resource use. When students are encouraged to think about solutions for off the grid living, they often develop ideas that can inspire broader community change. Discussions around innovation sometimes remind me of initiatives such as e bike rental whitefish mt that also promote eco friendly transportation. Overall, competitions like Make48 help students build confidence, teamwork, and forward thinking skills that can shape the future.
