Get ready for an electrifying weekend of ingenuity and collaboration as the Kansas City Art Institute plays host to the highly anticipated Women in STEM Make48 Competition, taking place July 11th to 13th, 2025!Â

The power of female innovation as eight all-female teams converge in the heart of Kansas City to tackle a hands-on challenge will be a sight to see. These creatives will be competing for a coveted $2,000 prize and, even more excitingly, a golden ticket to the National Finale. The best part? Their entire journey, from brainstorming to the final reveal, will be captured by a film crew, bringing all the excitement to your screens in two exclusive episodes on Roku’s This Old House Makers Channel!
We received an incredible response from schools and organizations, making the selection process for this year's competition exceptionally competitive. While it was challenging to choose, we are thrilled to announce eight remarkable all-female teams who will be competing. Each team will be composed of students guided by a Team Captain. These captains will play a crucial role in steering their teams, ensuring their innovative ideas are brought to life and make it across the finish line.Â
