Watch the 2021 Indianapolis Sizzle | Empowering Health @ Home Challenge at Machyne Makerspace

Stellar Image Studios has wrapped up the Indianapolis sizzle video and it’s now available to watch!

Seven teams competed at the third stop in our city series located at Machyne Makerspace | 16 Tech in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Eli Lilly Company, a 145 year-old pharmaceutical company, called the challenge of Empowering Health@Home, where Indiana teams had to create a better pill box or IV medical stand.

The teams had the support of mentors and tool techs throughout the weekend. The volunteers came from local companies including: Catalyst, Glassboard, Anthem, Inc., Conexus Indiana and Innovative as well as from Machyne, Make48 and ShopBot Tools. We also brought in a few makers to help including Jess Crow (Crow Creek Designs), Char Miller-King (Wooden Maven) and Brad Allred (Project Build Stuff). Together this amazing crew brought the team's ideas to life in just 48 hours.

Seven local Indianapolis teams, made up of friends, families and coworkers, had 48 hours to come up with an original idea, based on the criteria of Empowering Health@Home. Teams created a prototype, sales sheet and video, then pitched their ideas to our panel of judges from Eli Lilly, Anthem and the Indy Recorder. One winning team was chosen and won $2k, but two teams will be heading to Nationals (2022).

Thank you to Machyne Makerspace and their leaders, Alex Bandar and Paul Williams, for the amazing hospitality and support you gave our team.
