This weekend, Fishers Maker Playground will be an epicenter of innovation as it hosts the FFA - Make48 event. This marks the second occasion the 48-hour competition has chosen Fishers Maker Playground and this year the competition will challenge Indiana high school FFA chapters.

Seven teams will arrive from Indiana's vibrant high school FFA chapters around the state. Among the teams gearing up for the competition are Hamilton Heights FFA (Hamilton Heights School District - Arcadia), Agricadabra (Purdue Polytechnic H.S. - Indianapolis), EH Royals (Eastern Hancock H.S. - Charlottesville), Mud Flaps (Frankton Lapel H.S. - Frankton), HSE FFA (Hamilton Southeastern - Fishers), Clever Connersville (Connersville H.S. - Connersville), and Fishers H.S. Corteva Agriscience and FFA have come together to create a challenge that mirrors their unwavering commitment to agriculture. This year's challenge is centered around Agricultural Education, aiming to enlighten the broader community about the diverse facets of agriculture. Through agricultural education, FFA students are provided opportunities for leadership development, personal growth, and career success. Over 800,000 students participate in formal agricultural education instructional programs offered. [ffa.org/agricultural-education/].

At the Make48 event, participants will craft solutions showcasing agriculture's positive impact on communities and careers, aligning with the mission of the FFA to prepare students for successful futures in the agricultural sector. This event will embody the ethos of creativity and innovation, fostering an environment where young minds can thrive.

About Make48

Make48 is a nationwide invention-competition docuseries that gives teams a challenge at the start of a two-day event. With just 48 hours, teams must create a prototype, promotional video, and sales sheet, and present their idea to a panel of judges. The teams have access to a makerspace and numerous Tool Techs that can make almost anything, patent attorneys, marketing experts, and more. This format allows everyone to have a level playing field and the chance to win, with no prior technical knowledge necessary.
