Meet the Teams: Indiana FFA Chapters Gear Up for Make48

The excitement is building as Indiana FFA chapters gear up to showcase their innovation and creativity skills at the Make48 competition. This event, hosted in collaboration with Corteva Agriscience, brings together young minds passionate about agriculture, ready to tackle challenges and revolutionize the industry. The Hamilton Heights FFA team is excited to participate in the first FFA-Make48 in Indiana! Composed of individuals already well-versed in designing and marketing agricultural products, this dynamic student trio is no stranger to collaboration. Having worked together on their chapter FFA officer team, they're now eager to bring their skills to the Make48 arena. Let the battle begin!

Agricadabra (Purdue Polytechnic H.S.-Broad Ripple Campus) Team

Team Agricadabra is going to make agricultural magic happen at Make48! Coming from Purdue Polytechnic High School Broad Ripple FFA: Vi (senior), Sophie (sophomore), Eddie (junior), and Dustin (old). We are a brand new FFA chapter still with that 'new car smell.' We use design thinking in our classes daily to improve local and global food insecurity through project-based learning, community service, and connections with industry.

EH Royals (Eastern Hancock FFA) Team

Representing Eastern Hancock FFA, the EH Royals hail from rural Hancock County with a determination to make a difference. Rooted in their community, this team is excited to participate and experience the Fishers Playground Makerspace with the goal of designing a product to have a positive impact on the community and abroad.

 



Mud Flaps (Frankton) Team Members: Stacy Wainscott, Jacob Shuter, Grace Kessinger, Matthew Esters




The Mud Flaps team is made up of three farm kids, Grace, Jacob, and Mathew who have grown up surrounded by agriculture and have a deep passion for farming. They have been actively involved in FFA and 4-H in their community and have gained valuable knowledge and skills through their participation. With the guidance and support of their FFA advisor, Stacy Wainscott, they have developed an educated understanding to allow them to promote and preserve the agricultural industry. Together, they work to continue the legacy of farming and make a positive impact in their community.




HSE FFA (Hamilton Southeastern) Team Members: Sam Uliczny, Ellie Taylor, Meghan Haws, Eliza Uliczny




Representing the HSE FFA chapter in Fishers, Indiana, this team brings a blend of seasoned FFA members and an experienced advisor. Their enthusiasm is infectious as they prepare to showcase their ingenuity on the Make48 stage.

The Clever Connersville FFA


Hailing from Connersville School District, the Clever Connersville FFA team is made up of Gabe Nobbe (team lead), Emma Ruf, Curtis Whittaker, and Christina Caldwell. They are members of the Cornersville FFA Chapter and are very passionate about their education. They come from a variety of backgrounds and are extremely excited to compete and do their best to win.

Fishers High School is sending their first year FFA chapter. Dean works at the local bike shop, Jackson has his own lawn care business, and Shae has a passion for Ford trucks. Throughout the 48-hours, the team is looking forward to practicing their communication and problem-solving skills in this competition.



Fishers Maker Playground: A Hub of Innovation


Set against the backdrop of Fishers Maker Playground, the Make48 competition finds itself in the perfect environment to foster innovation and collaboration. The 15,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, public makerspace at the Fishers Parks HQ offers a space filled with tools, technology, and arts to encourage imagination, curiosity, engineering, and building. Maker Playground provides the ideal setting for teams to bring their ideas to life.


As the competition draws near, anticipation is building for the ideas that will emerge from the Indiana FFA chapters. With the support of Corteva Agriscience and experienced Tool Techs, these young innovators are poised to leave a lasting impact on the agricultural landscape, not just in Indiana, but beyond.
