Indiana FFA Chapters will compete at this Make48 for a very special competition!

Make48 is a 48-hour competition where teams are presented with a challenge and tasked to build a physical prototype, create a sales sheet, produce a 1-minute marketing video and pitch their big idea to a panel of judges.

This coming May 2024, Fishers Maker Playground will host teams comprised of Indiana FFA chapters for a Make48 competition. With access to expert tool technicians and high-tech equipment, competing teams will have the power to build almost anything.

For this challenge, collaboration is the key to success. Many people have big ideas but few possess the resources to develop a prototype that turns them into reality. To build anything, different skills, materials and equipment must work together to create a final product. Make48 allows this process to be achieved with a fun, fast-paced, and educational event. First place team wins $2000.

Indiana FFA is a dynamic youth organization that provides students opportunities for leadership development, personal growth, and career success.

In 1929, Indiana FFA was founded one year after the establishment of the National FFA organization and has grown into an organization that has something to offer everyone.

Today, Indiana FFA has more than 14,000 members and is making a positive impact on hundreds of communities across the state. Indiana FFA provides secondary (Grades 5-12) school-aged students with challenging opportunities to develop leadership skills, problem-solving skills, and explore potential career opportunities.

The Maker Playground features several zones throughout the space for you to tinker and create, including a community workshop, metal shop, 3D printing space, welding, CNC routers, a laser cutter, and more. It offers several community programs from their youth Make 5 programs which offers experiential and project-based curriculum for all 5th grade students, to their Entremaker Program providing students with both the academic knowledge and technical skills needed to succeed in the industry.
