Fishers Maker Playground To Host Make48 Season 9 Nationals!

Kansas City, MO (August 7, 2025) – Fishers Maker Playground is thrilled to announce they will be hosting the highly anticipated Make48 Season 9 Nationals! This marks a significant return for Make48 to Fishers, promising an intense and innovative competition. The stage is set for a thrilling challenge, where six elite teams, emerging from three competitive regional events, will showcase their skills, innovativeness, creativity, and ability to work under pressure.
From November 14-16, 2025, Maker Playground will transform into a hub of innovation and stimulation, offering participants access to cutting-edge tools and expert guidance. "Maker Playground and Fishers Parks had an amazing time hosting the past Make48 competitions and can’t wait to be the host location for the 2025 National competition! Make48 is an action-packed competition that brings new faces to the facility and reflects the spirit of innovation in Fishers,” said Nick Snyder, Makerspace Manager.

Six teams have battled their way through fierce regional competitions to earn their spot at Nationals. They represent the best of the best from:

Kansas City, MO at Kansas City Art Institute | The Dream Makers and CTEC CAPS Creators
Mentors from a variety of industries and organizations, including Make48 veterans and experts from Fishers Maker Playground, will be on hand to offer guidance and expertise, helping teams navigate challenges and unlock their full potential. The Maker Playground boasts an impressive array of facilities, including a community workshop, metal shop, 3D printing space, welding stations, and CNC routers. Whether participants are crafting intricate designs or fabricating prototypes, they'll find everything they need within these walls.
With diverse skills and equipment at their disposal, participants will embark on a journey of creation that is both exhilarating and educational. The winning team will walk away with a grand prize of $10,000 and the coveted Make48 National Title!
An All-Star Lineup of Mentors and Tool Techs
Fishers Maker Playground will be buzzing with energy, with many supporters returning to lend a hand and their expertise. To guide these talented makers on their 48-hour innovation marathon, we have assembled an incredible team of experts. Lead tool techs Miles Davis, Tyler Isaacs, and Adam Kittrell will be joined by past technicians, makers, as well as representatives from ShopBot Tools, Makerbot, and Onshape.
The entire competition will be filmed, capturing every moment of triumph, struggle, and collaboration. Season 9 of Make48 will premiere on Roku's This Old House Makers Channel, bringing the thrill of invention to viewers nationwide.

Make48 is a nationwide invention-competition docuseries that gives teams a challenge at the start of a three-day event. With just 48 hours, teams must create a prototype, promotional video, and sales sheet, and present their idea to a panel of judges.
