Watch the Primetime debut of Make48 on This Old House Makers Channel (Ch. 458 on Roku) next week! The FIFTH season of Make48 will air on Wednesday, January 18th from 7-9pm (ET).
Viewers will be able to watch Make48 programming on This Old House Makers Channel EVERY Wednesday night beginning with the fifth season. Season 5 episodes will be released as a 3.5 hour block showcasing makerspaces and tool sponsors from the 2021 competitions in Wichita, KS at GoCreate, Madison, WI at The Bodgery, Indianapolis, IN at Machyne and Hartford, CT at MakerspaceCT. Moving forward, the Make48 competition series will be aired on This Old House Makers Channel.
In 2021, Make48 set out to create the first City Series Competition where teams competed in four cities with the top two winning teams moving on to compete at nationals. Challenge sponsors included industry leaders Koch Industries, Midwest Prototyping, Eli Lilly and Stanley Black & Decker. Filming and venue partner took place in Wichita, Kan. at GoCreate, a Koch Collaborative for the nationals competition.
The 48-hour competition has 6-8 teams come together to create a physical prototype (based on the challenge theme), create a 1-minute pitch video and present their idea to a panel of judges for a cash prize. With access to equipment, tool technicians and a Makerspace, the teams can build almost anything their imaginations can come up with to solve the challenge.
