Wichita, KS – (October 21, 2026) – If you missed the tenth season premiere on the This Old House Makers Channel, don’t worry! Two episodes from the Wichita competition are now available to stream on the Make48 YouTube page.

With just one click, you can dive straight into the makerspace action and watch brainstorming ideas turn into physical prototypes in under 48 hours.

Region 1 Classroom Teams

Seven teams from the first Regional Classroom Innovation experience touched down in Wichita for the first live competition of Season 10.

These incredible minds represented multiple schools and organizations, including UW-Stout Polytechnic (WI), Vandermont (TX), Columbia Area Career Center (MO), Andover CAPS (KS), Oak Park High School (MO), LISA Academy North (AR), and Hot Springs EAST (AR).

“Diverse perspectives, rapid prototyping, and real solutions – the talent across these regional teams proved exactly what Make48 is built for”, said Tom Gray, CEO of Make48.

A Community-Powered Event

A competition of this scale truly takes a village. We are incredibly grateful to the local partners and organizations who stepped up to support these young innovators and make the weekend unforgettable, including GoCreate, Westlake Ace Hardware, The Kansas Aviation Museum, Destination Innovation, WSU, and Walnut River Brewery.

Make48 isn’t just about the teams; it’s about the legendary Tool Techs who bring abstract ideas to life. A massive thank you also goes out to our incredible sponsors who provided the cutting-edge machinery, materials, and support needed to fuel this competition: Fastenal, ShopBot Tools, Trimble, MakerBot, Dynamism, Thunder Laser, Hovey Williams, Carhartt, AT&T, and Quantum Coffee Roasters.

Just watched both Wichita episodes, and the classroom teams were incredible. Building a working aviation prototype in 48 hours is no joke, and the Tool Techs deserve a lot of credit too. My favourite was the team that kept redesigning right up to the pitch, the pressure was real! Watching Make48 has the same energy as a live football match: you never know what happens in the final minutes.
