On March 1st, Northeastern Arkansas students will participate in Make48, the fastest-invention competition, which helps participants discover what is possible in 48 hours. E-Z-GO will set the challenge criteria and help craft the team's objectives. The “secret” challenge won’t revolve around the golf course, but will be crucial to the landscape of the Delta Region.

“E-Z-GO is proud to support Make48 in providing young inventors with an opportunity to show off their talents and gain valuable knowledge and expertise about how to innovate using new technologies and processes,” said Bill Rhinesmith, senior vice president, engineering for Textron Specialized Vehicles, which designs and manufactures E-Z-GO products. “We expect that these young inventors will one day be the next generation of innovators who will build the future of E-Z-GO and other U.S. manufacturers.”

E-Z-GO Background & History

Founded in 1954 in Augusta, Georgia by two visionary brothers, E‑Z‑GO was built on a simple yet powerful mission to construct a golf car that better met the evolving needs of customers and the industry than its competitors. Over the ensuing decades, the company has been at the forefront of innovation in its industry, as the first to introduce numerous new technologies to the field.

E-Z-GO innovations include the AC Drive found in its RXV golf-car platform, which utilizes an alternating-current motor and electrical powertrain for exceptional hill-climbing power, unmatched energy efficiency, and industry-leading features. E-Z-GO also was the industry’s first manufacturer to offer lithium-battery technology at fleet scale in its ELiTE series of vehicles. E-Z-GO ELiTE models leverage Samsung SDI lithium-battery technology to provide enhanced energy efficiency, longer range between charges, faster charging cycles, lighter weight, and zero-maintenance when compared to the lead-acid battery systems traditionally used in golf-car applications.

Since 1960, E‑Z‑GO has been a part of Textron Inc., a multi-industry company that leverages its global network of aircraft, defense, industrial and finance businesses to provide customers with innovative solutions and services. Textron is known around the world for its powerful brands such as Bell, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pipistrel, Jacobsen, Kautex, Lycoming, E-Z-GO, Arctic Cat, Textron Systems, and TRU Simulation + Training. E-Z-GO operates as part of the Textron Specialized Vehicles business.

For almost 70 years,  E‑Z‑GO has maintained its unwavering mission to build vehicles and services that surpass customer expectations. The drive to continually lead in innovation propels E‑Z‑GO to offer its unique combination of world-class products, advanced technology, manufacturing expertise, and exceptional service.
