Here’s a sneak peek at what we’ve been up to on the education side of the organization:
We are currently seeking out 40 programs to pilot the Make48 Innovation Experience during the 2024-25 school year!
Our purpose is to bring the excitement and learning that occurs during competition into the classroom. We have now developed nine modules filled with multiple hands-on activities and helpful insight from Make48 experts. Participants who complete these lessons will gain practical experience that will guide them through the product development process by tackling a challenge provided by established business partners.
How do you assemble a well-rounded, capable team? Do you need to produce marketing materials to sell your idea to stakeholders? Trying to decide what materials to use for building your prototype? We will guide you through every step of the process.
The Innovation Experience features the Agilities© by The DeBruce Foundation. This framework will help participants gain awareness of their own strengths and interests, learn about amazing career opportunities that fit their personalities, and tell their story to outsiders in a way that can help them get one step closer to a career that they’ll love!
We are intentionally leaving the method of implementation up to the educators to utilize in the manner that best suits their needs. A few examples might include:
Embedding into an existing course as a single unit
Utilized off and on as needed throughout the year within a course
As a standalone course that lasts for a semester or a year
Used as a curriculum for an extracurricular club
Used within a non-school organization, like a Girl Scout troop
